As part of the third edition of the festival “Cosa porta il vento – Le relazioni umane” The Insania Theatre Company of Naples will present the show for the first time in Sicily “Mare di Ruggine – La favola dell’Ilva 2.0”.
Text and direction by Antimo Casertano
With Daniela Ioia, Luigi Credendino, Francesca De Nicolais and Antimo Casertano
Production of the Bellini Theatre in Naples
The show, winner of numerous awards and recognitions, including the 2025 National Critics’ Award, tells the story of a five-generation family history that parallels the history of the former Ilva, later Italsider, plant in Bagnoli.
It is the story of a father told to his son.
It’s the story of the only possibility, the only alternative that the factory-‘or construction site-has represented for so many families; in Naples as in Taranto, in Genoa as in Piombino.
It is the story of the right to work and how it represents the only certainty of existence in society.
A journey between collective memory and workers’ identity, between trade union struggles, deindustrialization, and the social wounds left by time, will allow us to explore the complex dynamics of labor, economic, and power relations.
An act of love towards the social roots of our country, between utopia and disenchantment.
Free admission while seats last.
The festival is organized by the Circo dell’avvenire association, under the artistic direction of Tiziana Giordano, and is organized under the patronage of the Municipality of Cefalù
